{"id":24782,"date":"2023-02-13T19:22:48","date_gmt":"2023-02-13T19:22:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=24782"},"modified":"2023-02-13T19:22:50","modified_gmt":"2023-02-13T19:22:50","slug":"acsf-promotes-alyssa-sleight-to-director-of-safety","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/national-news\/acsf-promotes-alyssa-sleight-to-director-of-safety\/%20","title":{"rendered":"ACSF Promotes Alyssa Sleight to Director of Safety"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Air Charter Safety Foundation (ACSF.aero), a non-profit\norganization that supports the highest safety standards for more than 300\naviation-focused businesses, charter and fractional operators, announced the\npromotion of Alyssa Sleight from Programs Manager to Director of Safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Alyssa-Sleight.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-24783\" width=\"317\" height=\"207\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Alyssa-Sleight.png 600w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Alyssa-Sleight-300x197.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 317px) 100vw, 317px\" \/><figcaption><em>Alyssa Sleight<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The ACSF\u2019s President Bryan Burns cited Sleight\u2019s very\nfocused work experience, aviation industry knowledge and education as being key\nto her advancement. \u201cAlong with that, Alyssa\u2019s learned from the best\u2014most\nnotably the ACSF\u2019s first Director of Safety, Russ Lawton,\u201d Burns said. \u201cWith\nher tenure at the ACSF and commitment to learning new skills, she\u2019s a natural\nfit for this promotion.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As Director of Safety, Sleight is tasked with helping expand\nthe Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP), which the ACSF offers in conjunction\nwith the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Sleight will assist ACSF\nmembers to enhance and improve their operation with flight data monitoring\n(FDM) and the newly required safety management system (SMS) standards, per the\nFAA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sleight formerly was the ACSF\u2019s Assistant Director of Safety\nand Programs Manager for the organization\u2019s various safety initiatives,\nincluding the ASAP. Most recently, she participated in several of the\nFoundation\u2019s monthly ASAP Event Review Committee meetings and organized the\nback-office logistics of the ASAP training and operations, such as ASAP data\ncollection. She has also provided technical support to ACSF members as well as\nthe FAA, and most recently renewed nearly all ASAP Memorandums of Understanding\n(MOUs) agreements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe ACSF has a unique take on ASAP in comparison to the\nrest of the industry,\u201d explained Alyssa Sleight. \u201cSince joining the ACSF, I\u2019ve\nlearned under my mentor, Russ Lawton, how to manage the relationship between\nthe ACSF, the FAA and various ASAP participants. I\u2019m looking forward to\ncreating a more standardized and efficient means of conducting the third-party\nASAP manager. Likewise, I\u2019ll be working to incorporate more effective ways of\ngetting operators trained and reports submitted. I see a lot of opportunity for\nenhancing the role and processes related to the Safety Director position.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sleight is a licensed private pilot and holds a BS in\nAeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, in Daytona Beach,\nFlorida.
