The Southwest Airlines Destination 225\u00c2\u00b0 University Pathway is\nfor individuals interested in pursuing their university degree while building\npost-graduate flight instructing time within their college\u2019s flight program,\nwith the goal of becoming competitively qualified to interview for a first\nofficer role at one of the program\u2019s partner carriers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The majority of Auburn\u2019s nearly 700 School of Aviation\nstudents are Professional Flight majors, making the partnership a high-quality\nfeeder system for both parties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur School of Aviation is a shining example of excellence\nat Auburn, and I am thrilled to see our program aligned with Southwest\nAirlines,\u201d Auburn President Christopher B. Roberts said. \u201cWe are committed to\nproviding students with experiential learning and opportunities to make an\nimpact in the world after their days on the Plains. Career pathway programs\nlike Southwest\u2019s Destination 225\u00c2\u00b0 are a wonderful way for our aviation students\nto embark on fulfilling and meaningful careers after graduation. We look forward\nto a long and prosperous partnership with Southwest through Auburn Aviation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After building their flying experience at a partner carrier\nthrough the program, candidates receive employment consideration for a First\nOfficer position at Southwest Airlines. Auburn\u2019s job placement rate for\nprofessional flight and flight management majors has remained near 100 percent\nin recent years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis partnership is a win-win for everyone and the latest\nin a long line of amazing news for the Auburn School of Aviation program,\u201d said\nJim Witte, director of Auburn\u2019s School of Aviation. \u201cSouthwest Airlines has a\nproven tradition of excellence in the industry, and we are excited about\njoining its Destination 225\u00c2\u00b0 pathway program to feed the pipeline of the\nfuture.
