Sammons was nominated by City of Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Jack-Sammons-edit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-24524\" width=\"217\" height=\"297\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Jack-Sammons-edit.jpg 444w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Jack-Sammons-edit-219x300.jpg 219w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 217px) 100vw, 217px\" \/><figcaption><em>Jack Sammons<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Sammons previously served on the MSCAA board from 2010 until\nMay 2015 and was the chairman of the board from January 2013-May 2015. He was\nreappointed to the board in December 2015. Sammons began his new seven-year\nterm on January 1, 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Airport Authority has long benefited from the presence\nof Jack Sammons on this board and we look forward to his continued\ncontributions\u201d said Michael Keeney, Chairman of the MSCAA Board of\nCommissioners. \u201cHe is passionate about the airport and its role in the\ncommunity and has long been a champion of the MSCAA\u2019s pursuit of frequent and\naffordable air service.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more than 20 years, Sammons has served as the president\nof Ampro Industries, a leading global manufacturer of ethnic haircare products.\nIn addition, he is a former member of the Memphis City Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sammons also serves as General Chairman of Youth Programs,\nInc., the charitable foundation of the FedEx St. Jude Championship golf\ntournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was educated at Christian Brothers High School, the\nUniversity of Alabama, and the University of Memphis, where he received his\nBBA.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Memphis City Council has confirmed the reappointment of Jack Sammons to the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority (MSCAA) board of commissioners.
