{"id":24435,"date":"2022-12-26T18:19:45","date_gmt":"2022-12-26T18:19:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=24435"},"modified":"2022-12-26T18:19:47","modified_gmt":"2022-12-26T18:19:47","slug":"ribbon-cutting-ceremony-celebrates-new-hangars-at-winchester-regional-airport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/state-news\/virginia\/ribbon-cutting-ceremony-celebrates-new-hangars-at-winchester-regional-airport\/%20","title":{"rendered":"Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Celebrates New Hangars at Winchester Regional Airport"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at Winchester Regional\nAirport earlier this month to celebrate the completion of six new hangars\nlocated on the southeast side of the airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The hangars are the first phase of a project that will\nultimately bring 32 private aircraft hangars to the airport over a six-year\nperiod. Construction of the second building, housing five new hangars, will\nstart in early 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The KOKV hangars project officially began in June 2021 with\nthe signing of a public private partnership between TMG Construction\nCorporation and Winchester Regional Airport. The company broke ground on the\nproject in February.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re very fortunate to be celebrating the first six of 32\nhangars,\u201d TMG owner Joe Matthews said. \u201cPrivate industry, the Winchester\nRegional airport authority and a large group of stakeholders were able to\ncollaborate to make this happen.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new hangars are available in either 52\u2019 or 60\u2019 wide by\n50\u2019 deep. The back of each hangar has access to the airport service road and\nthe front connects directly to the ramp. Each hangar is heated, insulated and\nequipped with a bathroom. Other amenities include central compressed air,\ninternet, electronic access control and an outdoor picnic area. The hangars\nprovide an excellent place for aircraft to idle, boosting the economic\npotential for the airport and region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThese beautiful new hangars are now attached to an airport\nthat is striving to connect to its community,\u201d Airport Executive Director Nick\nSabo said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Located in Frederick County, Winchester Regional Airport is\na general aviation airport.
