OHB and AFK\u2019s joint company DAH Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH\nsigned an agreement recently to secure an important minority equity investment\nin Deutsche Aircraft Holdings (DAH), the sole owner of Deutsche Aircraft Group\ncompanies. The investment comes from a joint venture between aerospace company\nOHB SE and investment company AFK Enterprise AG and will propel the development\nof new green aviation technologies including the D328eco\u2122, an environmentally\nfriendly version of the acclaimed Do328\u00ae short-haul passenger aircraft\nmanufactured by Deutsche Aircraft GmbH. Under the agreement, the investors have\nthe potential to acquire additional ownership up to a majority at a later point\nin time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The partnership fuels progress on the D328eco and Leipzig\nproduction facilities, as well as to open opportunities for the development of\nfuture aircraft variants in new international markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dave Jackson, CEO of Deutsche Aircraft said: \u201cThis\ninvestment reaffirms both the strong market need for a proven regional aircraft\nand underpins the belief in the green aviation sector, in particular the\nopportunities Deutsche Aircraft\u2019s new D328eco aircraft will offer.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Deutsche Aircraft\u2019s D328 series of aircraft is founded on\nthe proud heritage of Dornier and Deutsche Aircraft is the holder of the Do328\u00ae\ntype certificate. With new propulsion systems, latest-generation avionics and\nmore seats, the D328eco will set new standards for environmentally friendly\nshort-haul flying. Deutsche Aircraft is also studying a variety alternative\nfuels and future climate-neutral propulsion systems as part of its product\nroadmap. The Do328 is the last commercial aircraft to date to have been\ndeveloped and built entirely in-house by a German company – and this will also\nbe the case with the D328eco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The equity stake in DAH is subject to approval from the\nGerman Government which is currently supporting the development of the D328eco\nwith a high-volume development cost loan, and, in addition, supports the\ndevelopment of clean aviation initiatives at Deutsche Aircraft. The transaction\nis anticipated to close during the first quarter of 2023, following regulatory\napprovals and other customary closing conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With this investment we are significantly strengthening our\nAerospace business segment,\u201d said Dr. Lutz Bertling, member of OHB SE\u2019s\nmanagement board. \u201cBeyond the current project, OHB intends to develop with its\npartners strategically more joint business in Europe, the United States and\nMiddle East, including beyond aviation, with first projects already under\ndiscussion in the defense and space sectors.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
