This\nnew strategy sets out the framework and key actions in the European Union to\nsupport the development of Unmanned Aircraft and their integration into the\nEuropean airspace, as well as the deployment of piloted electric Urban and\nRegional Air Mobility operations in and around European cities, municipalities\nand regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) and several of their member companies were members of the European Commission\u2019s Drone Leaders Group, which published its <a href=\"https:\/\/transport.ec.europa.eu\/news\/drone-leaders-group-supports-preparation-drone-strategy-20-2022-05-02_en\">final report<\/a> in April this year. The report served as basis for the development of the <a href=\"https:\/\/transport.ec.europa.eu\/system\/files\/2022-11\/COM_2022_652_drone_strategy_2.0.pdf\">Drone Strategy 2.0<\/a>, including its 2030 vision for Unmanned Aviation and Innovative Air Mobility (IAM) in Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe latest strategy rightly highlights the important\ngrowing market for both cargo and passenger-carrying Urban and Regional Air\nMobility (UAM) operations as a key enabler for the sustainable mobility of\ncitizens and goods in the European Union. Several of the flagship actions\nhighlighted in the strategy align with GAMA\u2019s goals for the UAM sector, namely\nairspace integration; risk-based and performance-based regulations for both\ncertification and operations; development of vertiports for operations;\nworkforce and skills development; and engagement with local authorities to\nsupport their implementation in Member States.
