{"id":24182,"date":"2022-12-04T15:26:48","date_gmt":"2022-12-04T15:26:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=24182"},"modified":"2022-12-04T15:33:48","modified_gmt":"2022-12-04T15:33:48","slug":"umiles-next-and-tecnalia-present-technologies-that-will-dominate-european-skies-for-safe-and-sustainable-uam","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/international-news\/umiles-next-and-tecnalia-present-technologies-that-will-dominate-european-skies-for-safe-and-sustainable-uam\/%20","title":{"rendered":"UMILES Next and TECNALIA Present Technologies That Will Dominate European Skies for Safe and Sustainable UAM"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The UMILES Next air taxi, Concept Integrity, equipped with\nFlyFree technology developed by the TECNALIA research center, was presented earlier\nthis month in Brussels during the Drone Days organized by the European\nCommission as part of the Drone Strategy 2.0, an initiative aimed at promoting\nthe development of new sustainable drone services and transport solutions that\nis backed by the European Commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Umiles-in-Brussels-edit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-24184\" width=\"230\" height=\"307\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Umiles-in-Brussels-edit.jpg 600w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Umiles-in-Brussels-edit-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 230px) 100vw, 230px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>During these Drone Days, experts from the industry and\nEuropean politics explored the key strategic areas for the future of innovative\nurban air mobility and emergency services, and the strength of the synergies\nbetween European civil and defense drone capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, through the flights conducted in Toulouse, Ja\u00e9n and\nLugo, TECNALIA and UMILES Next presented the technologies that had been\nvalidated during these tests, which will represent the future of safe and\nsustainable urban air mobility within the European Drone 2.0 strategy.\nTechnologies such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Automatic flight altitude control.<\/li><li>Automatic landing and take-off.<\/li><li>Urban airspace integration tests (U-Space).<\/li><li>In-flight tactical conflict resolution\nscenarios.<\/li><li>Dynamic geofencing: The geofencing system is\nintegrated into the drones and uses GPS positioning and other navigation\nsatellite signals to warn or restrict drone operators from entering locations which\npose national security or aviation safety concerns. In this case, it provides\nanti-invasion monitoring in flight areas.<\/li><li>Detect and avoid systems for other drones in\nflight.<\/li><li>Dynamic re-routing (in the absence of a\nvertiport), which consists of changing flight plans due to tactical conflict\nresolution.<\/li><li>Cruising operations.<\/li><li>Coordination of flights with other drones and\nmanned vehicles through the AIRUS U-space platform.<\/li><li>Integration testing, including aircraft\nsimulation, drone identification and registration, geopositioning, flight\nmission plan conflict resolution, flight tracking and monitoring, interface\nwith ATC (Air Traffic Controller) and emergency management.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The validation of these technologies has represented a great\nstep forward for the airspace integration of these types of aircraft, with the\ngoal of validating future urban air traffic management with unmanned aircraft\n(U-space).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aim is to make the mobility of the future more\nintelligent and sustainable.
