AIM is certified by the Federal\nAviation Administration (FAA) and graduates hundreds of aviation maintenance\ntechnicians every year.&nbsp; NBOE students\nwill be allowed to start coursework in this high-demand field involving\naircraft systems that can lead to careers as aircraft mechanics, avionics\ntechnicians, and aircraft inspectors.&nbsp;\n&#8220;The district continues to identify sectors with critical labor\nshortages and partners with industry professionals to provide programs and\nopportunities today, preparing our students for careers tomorrow,&#8221;\nannounced Superintendent Roger Le\u00c3\u00b3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While air traffic has not fully reached pre-pandemic levels,\nairports around the world continue to deal with labor shortages that impact\nevery level of the aviation industry.&nbsp;\nLast summer&#8217;s travel season was one of the worst in history.&nbsp; &#8220;Plagued by delays and cancellations for\nvarying reasons, this industry needs an injection of new high-skilled\nprofessionals and AIM in partnership with the Newark Board of Education is\nprepared to do just that,&#8221; shared De&#8217;Kylen Jordan, Campus Executive\nDirector of Aviation Institute of Maintenance.&nbsp;\n&#8220;With the recent expansion at Newark International Airport and its\nproximity to our schools, we know the opportunities are real,&#8221; added NBOE\nPresident Dawn Haynes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The partnership with AIM will launch this spring for\neligible graduating seniors, with plans to expand for full-time enrollment of\nNBOE students at AIM.&nbsp; Students will be\nimmersed in all aspects of the industry through extended learning experiences\nat local airports and guest speakers.&nbsp;\n&#8220;The aviation industry has many opportunities for career advancement,\nand we intend to make them available to our students,&#8221;
