{"id":24065,"date":"2022-11-21T15:14:37","date_gmt":"2022-11-21T15:14:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=24065"},"modified":"2022-11-21T15:14:38","modified_gmt":"2022-11-21T15:14:38","slug":"pilots-organize-airlift-for-families-at-the-childrens-inn-at-nih","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/state-news\/maryland\/pilots-organize-airlift-for-families-at-the-childrens-inn-at-nih\/%20","title":{"rendered":"Pilots Organize Airlift for Families at The Children\u2019s Inn at NIH"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Pilots for Christ Maryland has partnered with <a href=\"https:\/\/childrensinn.org\/\">The Children\u2019s Inn<\/a> at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Commonwealth Aviation and local pilots to airlift presents for patients receiving care at NIH on Saturday, Dec. 17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The planned airlift, known as \u201cMiracle on Runway One-Four,\u201d\nwill involve pilots and general aviation aircraft departing from various\nairports across the Mid-Atlantic and arriving at Montgomery County Airport at\n11:00 am. Pilots for Christ will be collecting gifts and organizing volunteer\npilots from now until the airlift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur goal is to use our ability to fly to serve those in\nneed,\u201d Pilots for Christ Maryland President Michael McFadden said. \u201cWe are\norganizing the airlift and using our abilities to fly to help share hope and\njoy for the families receiving treatment at NIH this holiday season.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pilots for Christ is collaborating with local businesses\nsuch as Commonwealth Aviation, a Manassas-based flight school, to collect\ndonations and organize volunteer aircraft for the airlift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those interested in purchasing gifts for children staying at\nthe Children\u2019s Inn at NIH can do so by donating to Pilots for Christ, marking\ntheir donations as \u201cAirlift\u201d here:\nhttps:\/\/www.pilotsforchristofmaryland.org\/donation<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Donations will be loaded into volunteer aircraft and flown\nto Montgomery County Airport on Dec. 17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Interested individuals can also donate to The Children\u2019s Inn directly here: <a href=\"https:\/\/give.childrensinn.org\/give\/329874\/#!\/donation\/checkout\">https:\/\/give.childrensinn.org\/give\/329874\/#!\/donation\/checkout<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe hope that this airlift can be the first of many, and we\ncan expand our services to patients and people in need of care more in the\nfuture,\u201d McFadden said. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pilots for Christ Maryland has partnered with The Children\u2019s Inn at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Commonwealth Aviation and local pilots to airlift presents for patients receiving care at NIH on Saturday, Dec. 17.
