At the same time our\nindustry will continue to foster the momentum we have created on addressing\nenvironmental issues, which includes advancing technology that improves\nefficiencies of aircraft and operations; supporting the production,\ndistribution and uptake of SAF; and futher developing hydrogen, electric and\nhybrid propulsion — all of which are important to meeting our business\naviation commitment of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Aircraft\nshipments through the third quarter of 2022, when compared to the same period\nin 2021, saw piston airplane increase 8.8% with 1,012 units, turboprops\nincrease 7.3% with 383 units, and business jet shipments increase 1.8% with 446\nunits. The value of airplane deliveries through the third quarter of 2022 was\n$14.1 billion, an increase of approximately 4.8%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Helicopter\nshipments through the thrid quater of 2022 were up when compared to the same\nperiod in 2021; piston helicopter deliveries increased 3.8% with 137 units, and\nturbine helicopter deliveries increased 7.1% with 439 units.
