{"id":24015,"date":"2022-11-17T16:14:26","date_gmt":"2022-11-17T16:14:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=24015"},"modified":"2022-11-17T16:16:01","modified_gmt":"2022-11-17T16:16:01","slug":"summit-aviation-celebrates-move-to-greensboro","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/state-news\/north-carolina\/summit-aviation-celebrates-move-to-greensboro\/%20","title":{"rendered":"Summit Aviation Celebrates Move to Greensboro"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/summitaviationmfg.com\/\">Summit Aviation Inc.<\/a>, a Greenwich AeroGroup Co., held a ribbon cutting to celebrate its new location in Greensboro, North Carolina. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Summit Aviation Manufacturing was formed in 2014 when\nGreenwich AeroGroup retained the manufacturing side of then-owned Atlantic Aero\nupon its divestiture to Landmark Aviation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Summit Aviation\u2019s manufacturing division will gain an\nadditional 19k square feet of space compared to its former location in\nKernersville, which it had been in since 2008. The 49-thousand-square-foot\nfacility is also smack dab in the middle of a growing area of aviation and\ncloser to many of its customers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are extremely excited to be in this new locale,\u201d said\nSummit\u2019s Greensboro Director of Manufacturing Garrett Wishon. \u201cThe increased\nspace provides us with the opportunity to expand our capabilities and add new\nmachinery that allows us to serve our aviation and other types of industry\ncustomers in a capacity we haven\u2019t been able to do prior to this move.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wishon added that among the new machinery is a 4 x 12-foot\n5-Axis mill. It will allow Summit technicians to machine landing gear, leading\nedges, wing spars, etc. up to 12 feet long, noting it will be a game-changer\nfor them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new location\u2019s open floor plan also affords the company\nthe ability to create an optimal flow for lean manufacturing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Summit Aviation Inc., a Greenwich AeroGroup Co., held a ribbon cutting to celebrate its new location in Greensboro, North Carolina.
