The National Air Transportation Association announced an\nenhanced focus on Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) relative to general aviation\ninfrastructure and air charter operations development. To shore up this effort,\nMegan Eisenstein will shift her responsibilities from Managing Director of\nIndustry and Regulatory Affairs to Managing Director of Industry Affairs and\nInnovation to lead NATA\u2019s initiatives while Ryan Waguespack will serve as\nSenior Advisor (AAM) to foster the connection between this emerging sector and\nthe Part 135 environment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On November 2, NATA convened its first AAM Committee meeting\nin conjunction with its Aviation Business Conference in Miami and plans for a\nsecond meeting in Washington, DC, in January, along with a half-day Town Hall\nfor information sharing and connecting with NATA members. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

NATA\u2019s recent webinar, \u201cHow New Industry Entrants are\nChanging the General Aviation Landscape,\u201d provided stakeholder input on the\npath forward for FBOs and airports planning to service the next generation of\naircraft and addressed sustainable infrastructure, such as vertiports, where\ninnovative solutions in transporting people and goods will impact the overall\naviation ecosystem. Webinar special guest Nate Ward of BETA Technologies\noutlined the requirements for building an electric charging infrastructure for\neVTOL aircraft, suggesting a timeline of at least a year in advance of their\narrival for charging equipment acquisition and implementation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe efficiency and effectiveness of AAM development and\nintegration will require strategic leadership to address immediate needs\nrelated to ground service, operations, maintenance, and public acceptance.
