The\nplanned eVTOL aircraft manufacturing facility is expected to create over 1,000\njobs over the long term. Construction is expected to be completed in the first\nhalf of 2024 with initial production expected to begin in the second half of\n2024. The facility will be capable of being expanded by an additional 550,000\nsquare feet, which is estimated to support production of up to 2,300 aircraft\nper year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Archer-First-Flight_03-edit-1024x615.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-23977\" width=\"355\" height=\"213\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Archer-First-Flight_03-edit-1024x615.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Archer-First-Flight_03-edit-300x180.jpg 300w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Archer-First-Flight_03-edit.jpg 1700w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 355px) 100vw, 355px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>In selecting the location for its first manufacturing\nfacility, Archer completed a comprehensive survey of potential sites across the\nUnited States. Key considerations included the availability of talent in the\nlocal labor market, utility availability, ability to conduct seamless flight\ntest operations, construction costs, and logistics. Archer will receive an\nincentive package, which includes land conveyance, tax incentives and Georgia\nREBA grant. As Archer looks to build its local community-focused relationships\nin Georgia, it anticipates that financing for the project will be provided by\nSynovus, the largest bank headquartered in the state. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAfter many months of discussion and evaluation, we\u2019re\nexcited to select Georgia as the location for our manufacturing facility,\u201d said\nAdam Goldstein, Archer&#8217;s CEO. \u201cThe U.S. has long led the world in aerospace\ntechnology, and Georgia has played a vital role in that industry. Our eVTOL\ntechnology can transform how urban and rural communities live and commute and\nthis factory can create pathways to highly skilled manufacturing jobs and other\nladders of social and economic opportunity. Kemp commented, \u201cGeorgia has made nurturing\ninnovation a priority as we work with businesses to define the future. Our\nestablished leadership in the aerospace industry was essential to landing\nArcher Aviation in Newton County. We are thrilled to welcome Archer to the\nstate of Georgia, where they can take advantage of our signature workforce training\nprogram Quick Start to help fill, in the long-term, over 1,000 jobs in\nCovington.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Home to more than 800 aerospace companies, Georgia maintains\na robust aerospace education pipeline, with a dozen high schools that offer\ntraining in the field, five technical colleges with aviation programs, and\nseveral universities offering degrees in aerospace engineering.
