The airports\nreceiving funding are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Berens River &#8211; to purchase a compactor (tow behind) &#8211;\n$50,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bloodvein River &#8211; to purchase a compactor (tow behind) &#8211;\n$50,000; to install wildlife control fencing &#8211; $940,655<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Flin Flon &#8211; to purchase runway friction tester &#8211; $6,420; to\npurchase a grader &#8211; $438,000; to replace runway approach lighting \u2013 $90,329<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gods Lake Narrows &#8211; to purchase a compactor (tow behind) &#8211;\n$50,000; to purchase a loader mounted snow blower &#8211; $210,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Norway House &#8211; to purchase a compactor (tow behind) &#8211;\n$50,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oxford House &#8211; to purchase a compactor (tow behind) &#8211;\n$50,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pukatawagan &#8211; to purchase a compactor (tow behind) &#8211; $50,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Red Sucker Lake &#8211; to purchase a compactor (tow behind) &#8211;\n$50,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>South Indian Lake &#8211; to purchase a compactor (tow behind) &#8211;\n$50,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>St. Andrews &#8211; to purchase a sweeper &#8211; $395,200<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>St. Theresa Point &#8211; to purchase a compactor (tow behind) &#8211;\n$50,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tadoule Lake &#8211; to purchase a compactor (tow behind) &#8211;\n$50,000; to install wildlife control fencing &#8211; $1,029,573<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Pas\/Grace Lake &#8211; to purchase a loader mounted snow\nblower &#8211; $234,000<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thompson &#8211; to purchase a snowplow &#8211; $358,960<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>York Landing &#8211; to install wildlife control fencing &#8211;\n$926,610<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The equipment will be used in maintaining aircraft movement\nsurfaces and the removal and control of ice and snow from airside surfaces such\nas runways, taxiways and the apron. For airports with a gravel runway, a\ncompactor is used to compress the gravel on the runway, creating a stable\nsurface for safe landing and takeoff operations. The wildlife fencing will keep\nlarge mammals away from secure airfield areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This funding is in addition to the more than $20.8 million\nprovided under the Program in 2021 to support safety-related projects at the\nFlin Flon, Gods Lake Narrows, Lac Brochet, Red Sucker Lake, Shamattawa, and\nThompson airports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Airports play a crucial role in keeping Canadians\nconnected across our vast country, and the last two years have only underscored\nthis,\u201d said Minister Alghabra. \u201cToday&#8217;s investment of over $5.1 million for 15\nairports across Manitoba is great news for the region&#8217;s air sector and for the\ncommunities these airports serve.
