The projects at\nthese airports will help expedite the movement of goods throughout the country.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEvery day, we rely on goods transported through our\nnation\u2019s airports,\u201d said U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. \u201cToday\u2019s\nannouncement will make improvements at airports across our country so they can\nhandle cargo more efficiently and help strengthen America\u2019s supply\nchains.\u201d&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThese grants will provide lasting benefits today and well\ninto the future for our economy,\u201d said Deputy FAA Administrator A. Bradley\nMims. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The funding includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chicago Rockford International Airport in Rockford, Illinois\n\u2013 $6,799,210: Construct a 4,267-foot Taxiway and connectors to increase access\nto the south cargo apron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Huntsville International Airport-Carl T. Jones Field in\nHuntsville, Alabama \u2013 $5,614,732: Rehabilitate 5,600 square yards of the\nexisting air cargo apron and expand the airport&#8217;s existing access road an\nadditional 1,450 feet to enhance access. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport in Greer, South\nCarolina \u2013 $4,524,530: Rehabilitate existing taxiway and cargo apron pavement\nthroughout the airport.\\<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bishop International Airport in Flint, Michigan \u2013\n$2,307,210: Rehabilitate 37,400 square yards of existing cargo apron pavement\nand perform crack repair and joint sealing to 26,800 square yards of deicing\napron surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport \u2013 $8,169,544:\nReconstruct the taxilane and rehabilitate the apron at the airport, where the\nsecond-most amount of cargo weight traverses through. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in Seattle, Washington\n\u2013$1,926,518: Reconstruct 4,200 square yards existing cargo apron pavement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eugene F. Kranz Toledo Express Airport in Toledo, Ohio \u2013\n$1,071,768: Rehabilitate 27,670 square yards of cargo apron pavement and to\ndesign improvements to 16,450 square feet of the taxiway safety area erosion control\nsystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stockton Metropolitan Airport in Stockton, California \u2013\n$417,036: Fund the design phase to rehabilitate 800 feet of the existing cargo\ntaxilane pavement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport in Warwick,\nRhode Island \u2013 $197,310: Design a new 60,000 square-yard cargo apron to\naccommodate increased use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The money for these projects comes from the Airport\nImprovement Program during FY2022.
