{"id":23660,"date":"2022-10-10T13:23:55","date_gmt":"2022-10-10T13:23:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=23660"},"modified":"2022-10-10T13:23:57","modified_gmt":"2022-10-10T13:23:57","slug":"delta-air-lines-relaunches-asia-service-from-msp-airport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/state-news\/minnesota\/delta-air-lines-relaunches-asia-service-from-msp-airport\/%20","title":{"rendered":"Delta Air Lines Relaunches Asia Service from MSP Airport"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Delta Air Lines resumed its nonstop service between\nMinneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) and Seoul-Incheon\nInternational Airport (ICN) last week, the first of two Asia routes to return\nsince they were paused at the beginning of the COVID 19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs we come off of a busy summer travel season, we are\ndelighted to welcome back this important route,\u201d said Brian Ryks, CEO and\nexecutive director of the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC). \u201cWe are\ngrateful for our partnership with Delta and their commitment to restore MSP\u2019s\ncritical direct link to South Korea, which will also open travel connections\nacross Asia.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The resumption of service to Seoul-Incheon fully\nrestores Delta&#8217;s Korean flying to pre-pandemic levels,&#8221; said MSP Vice\nPresident of Airport Operations for Delta Air Lines, Mary Loeffelholz.\n&#8220;Through our Korean Air partnership, customers will have access to nearly\n30 destinations from ICN, reinforcing Delta&#8217;s mantra of \u2018no one better connects\nthe world.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Delta\u2019s nonstop service to Seoul marks the 25th\ninternational flight out of 30 to return to MSP. The ICN flight is the longest\ninternational route from MSP at more than 6,200 miles and a flight duration of\nmore than 12 hours. Delta\u2019s service to Tokyo-Haneda Airport, is tentatively set\nto restart in late March 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MSP\u2019s service to ICN began in April 2019 after the MSP\nRegional Air Service Partnership (RASP), a collaborative air service\ndevelopment initiative between the MAC and GREATER MSP, identified the route as\na major need for the region\u2019s business community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Seoul route was a direct outcome of local business\npartnerships and collaboration and Delta\u2019s commitment to provide this important\nservice,\u201d said Rick King, chair of the Metropolitan Airports Commission. \u201cIt is\nthese types of partnerships that have also helped us through the pandemic\nrecovery, making this a milestone moment as flights to and from Seoul take off\nonce again.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Delta\u2019s MSP-ICN route is initially operating three times per\nweek and will increase to daily service on October 29.
