{"id":23639,"date":"2022-10-09T12:56:32","date_gmt":"2022-10-09T12:56:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=23639"},"modified":"2022-10-09T12:56:34","modified_gmt":"2022-10-09T12:56:34","slug":"afbaa-strengthens-team-with-two-new-appointments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/international-news\/afbaa-strengthens-team-with-two-new-appointments\/%20","title":{"rendered":"AfBAA Strengthens Team with Two New Appointments"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The African Business Aviation Association (AfBAA) has announced\ntwo new appointments aimed at driving growth and providing increased support to\nAfBAA members.&nbsp; The new appointees are Dawit\nLemma, as AfBAA Vice President, International, based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia,\nand Samantha (Sam) Keddle, AfBAA Manager, based in Johannesburg, South Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Dawit_Lemma_becomes_first_African_IS-BAH_Standards_Board_Member-edit-2-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-23640\" width=\"173\" height=\"259\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Dawit_Lemma_becomes_first_African_IS-BAH_Standards_Board_Member-edit-2-1.jpg 500w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Dawit_Lemma_becomes_first_African_IS-BAH_Standards_Board_Member-edit-2-1-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 173px) 100vw, 173px\" \/><figcaption><em>Dawit Lemma<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Dawit Lemma is the Founder and CEO of Krimson Aviation, an\naviation services company based in Ethiopia and Malta.&nbsp; He has a degree in Aeronautical Engineering\nand Flight Technical from Purdue University, USA, and an MSc in Aviation\nManagement and Marketing from Basel Business College, Switzerland.&nbsp;&nbsp; He has close to 20 years of experience in\nthe aviation sector across four continents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dawit serves on the AfBAA Board of Directors and is the\nfirst African representative to sit on the International Business Aviation\nCouncil\u2019s IS-BAH Standard\u2019s Board.&nbsp; He\nalso represents Krimson in the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA)\nAmbassadors Program, and actively engages with the National Business Aviation\nAssociation (NBAA) in the USA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nick Fadugba, Chairperson of AfBAA and CEO, African Aviation\nServices, says: \u201cDawit has been an ardent supporter of AfBAA and we are\ndelighted that he has officially taken on the important position of Vice\nPresident, International.&nbsp; His key focus\nwill be to promote AfBAA within Africa and internationally, strengthen ties\nwith government regulators and industry stakeholders, and help the association\nto achieve its numerous goals.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Samantha-Keddle-Manager-AfBAA.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-23641\" width=\"214\" height=\"272\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Samantha-Keddle-Manager-AfBAA.png 434w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Samantha-Keddle-Manager-AfBAA-236x300.png 236w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 214px) 100vw, 214px\" \/><figcaption><em>Samantha (Sam) Keddle<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Ms. Sam Keddle joins AfBAA from The Commercial Aviation\nAssociation of South Africa (CAASA) where she has served as Office Manager\nsince April 2016.&nbsp; She brings a wealth of\nexperience and expertise to AfBAA particularly in managing association affairs,\naddressing the needs of members and arranging conferences, exhibitions and\nmeetings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are delighted that Sam has joined the Association in the\ncritical position of full-time AfBAA Manager.&nbsp;\nHer key objectives will be to enhance AfBAA\u2019s administration, interface\nwith AfBAA\u2019s<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>leadership team, members, industry stakeholders, supporters\nand sponsors, and to help to manage AfBAA\u2019s international publicity and\nevents,\u201d says Nick Fadugba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The appointments of Mr. Dawit Lemma and Ms. Sam Keddle take\neffect from 1st October 2022.&nbsp; The Vice\nChairperson of AfBAA is Mr. JP Fourie, Executive Director, Aircraft Division,\nNAC, South Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since its formation in 2012, AfBAA has become the\nPan-African voice for business and general aviation on the continent and has\nchampioned the adoption of unified safety standards across Africa in\npartnership with African civil aviation authorities.
