This year, the aviation week committee\ndeveloped the criteria for the award, collected submissions and awarded the\nSouth Carolina AMT of the Year award to Henry Williamson, who works at the\nHorry Country Airport in Conway, SC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The committee voted on five very highly qualified nominees.\nThe winner, Henry Williamson has spent 49 years in the aviation industry. Since\n2009, he\u2019s been the owner of H&amp;H Air Service, he\u2019s the former Director of\nMaintenance at NAIA in Conway, SC, and a former Aircraft Mechanic with Eskridge\nand Long Construction, Carolina Air\/Florence Airlines and Cox Aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Mr. Williamson is one of the most humble, honest men I\nknow. He&#8217;s an excellent aviation maintenance technician, and an even greater\nhuman being. His trustworthiness has made him well known throughout the state\nfor his knowledge, experience and skill in maintaining aircraft,&#8221; said\nChris Bethea of Myrtle Beach. Bethea, who is the District 7 representative of\nSouth Carolina Aeronautics Commission, nominated Williamson for the award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>S.C. Aviation Week was held and celebrated the economic and\neducational impact of airports and the aviation industry. It was planned in\npartnership with the South Carolina Aviation Association and the South Carolina\nAeronautics Commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SCAA actively promotes and encourages aviation and airport\ndevelopment to meet air transportation needs and assist the state in achieving\neconomic development goals. Its membership is comprised of airports, aviation\nindustry partners and aviators across South Carolina.
