The Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) and the American\nInstitute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) will join the new initiative\nto develop a skilled technical workforce announced by Vice President Kamala\nHarris at the recent National Space Council meeting at NASA Johnson Space\nCenter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cExploration is part of America\u2019s DNA and space is one of\nthe most exciting frontiers. People power these missions, so expanding the\nspace talent pool for all types of jobs is crucial,\u201d said AIA President and CEO\nEric Fanning. \u201cBecause demand for workers is rising, the supply needs to do the\nsame. This initiative will allow industry to share ideas that are working and\ntest whether they can be scaled to address this growing workforce need.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both organizations will be a part of a new coalition\ncommitted to working together to ramp up the space industry\u2019s capacity to meet\nthe rising workforce demand in critical areas of manufacturing, maintenance,\nquality control, and testing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
