{"id":23354,"date":"2022-09-05T14:57:23","date_gmt":"2022-09-05T14:57:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=23354"},"modified":"2022-09-05T14:57:26","modified_gmt":"2022-09-05T14:57:26","slug":"nata-welcomes-gamis-announcement-of-its-g100ul-stc-approval","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/national-news\/nata-welcomes-gamis-announcement-of-its-g100ul-stc-approval\/%20","title":{"rendered":"NATA Welcomes GAMI\u2019s Announcement of its G100UL STC Approval"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The National Air Transportation Association (NATA) joins\nindustry and governmental partners in welcoming the FAA\u2019s issuance of Supplemental\nType Certificates (STCs) approving the use of GAMI\u2019s 100 octane unleaded avgas\n(G100UL) in all spark-ignition piston aircraft and engines in the General\nAviation (GA) fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These STCs represent a major step forward for the future of\nunleaded avgas. Distribution of G100UL is expected to phase in gradually, with\n2024 as the targeted timeframe to begin broader availability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The phaseout of lead won\u2019t be complete until 100UL is commercially at scale. In the meantime, the industry\/governmental <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faa.gov\/unleaded\">Eliminate Aviation Gasoline Lead Emissions (EAGLE) Initiative<\/a> is expected to continue as fuel producers such as Swift Fuels, Phillips66\/Afton Chemical, and Lyondell Chemical\/VP-Racing also pursue approvals. NATA supports EAGLE\u2019s goal of a lead-free future for U.S. piston-engine aircraft by the end of 2030, without adversely impacting the GA fleet\u2019s safe and efficient operation \u2013 which includes maintaining 100LL availability across the country during the transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe National Air Transportation Association (NATA) is\npleased to see this advancement toward an unleaded Avgas future take shape. As\nG100UL becomes commercially available over the next few years, we look forward\nto continuing to develop infrastructure support, resources and training for\nairports, FBOs, and other refueling operators, as well as guidance on unleaded\navgas conversion considerations now for fuel service providers to support its\nsafe and effective rollout.
