{"id":23305,"date":"2022-08-30T13:09:32","date_gmt":"2022-08-30T13:09:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=23305"},"modified":"2022-08-30T13:09:33","modified_gmt":"2022-08-30T13:09:33","slug":"samarkand-international-airport-launches-e-gate-passport-control-system","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/international-news\/samarkand-international-airport-launches-e-gate-passport-control-system\/%20","title":{"rendered":"Samarkand International Airport Launches E-Gate Passport Control System"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Following extensive testing, Samarkand International Airport\nhas launched the first E-gate border control system in the Republic of\nUzbekistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The E-gate software and hardware system, developed by an\nUzbekistan company under contract with the border troops of the State Security\nService of Uzbekistan, allows safe and uninterrupted processing of arriving\npassengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The automated border control system is based on biometric\ntechnologies and provides for automatic identification of the person and allows\nfor a quick and safe border crossing with minimal involvement of border control\nofficers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Air Marakanda provides the most advanced technologies in the new terminal of Samarkand airport that meet international standards, so the implementation of such a project as E-gates is a logical solution for any modern transport facility,&#8221; said Gayrat Nematov, General Director of airport management company Air Marakanda LLC. &#8220;We are interested in the fact that the latest equipment allows passengers to minimize the time of passing all the necessary procedures. In aviation, the most important principles are safety and comfort, and such a project meets these requirements as much as possible.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the border control system, the technology expands\nthe system\u2019s capabilities and can be used at air, road, sea and pedestrian\ncheckpoints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After extensive testing, the Border Control Unit of the\nState Security Service chose to install the system at Samarkand International\nAirport. The system incorporates document readers, and high-resolution video\ncameras that carry out video surveillance and comparison of passengers&#8217;\nbiometric data with an identity document. Border Control and Air Marakanda have\ndeveloped measures against unauthorized passage and algorithms to ensure single\npassage, recognition of luggage and items left unattended.
