Since joining the NATA staff in November 2014, Obitts also\nserved as the Association\u2019s Chief Operating Officer, Executive Vice President\nof Business Operations, and Senior Vice President of Business & General\nCounsel, overseeing the Association\u2019s day-to-day operation and ensuring a\nmember-first culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For nearly the past three years as NATA\u2019s President and CEO,\nObitts was instrumental in advocating for its members during the COVID pandemic\nand personally guiding hundreds of aviation businesses through complex relief\nprograms. During his tenure with NATA, he brought leaders of other general\naviation groups together in demonstrating the industry\u2019s commitment to\nsustainability through the promotion of initiatives that advance the\nproliferation of sustainable aviation fuels, encourage the use of Book and Claim\nprograms, and provide a roadmap for FBOs, airports, and other aviation\nbusinesses to reduce their environmental footprint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt has been an honor to serve the membership of NATA these\npast eight years. We have accomplished much together, overcome adversity,\nfurthered the cause of aviation safety, and raised awareness of the critical\nrole that aviation businesses play in advancing society. I am proud and humbled\nto have been the leader of a great team at NATA and continue my support of\nleadership in advancing the Association\u2019s success,\u201d stated Timothy Obitts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
NATA Board Chair Clive Lowe (Executive Vice President,\nAtlantic Aviation, Arlington, VA) recognized Obitts\u2019 contributions and thanked\nCastagna for his willingness to serve as President and CEO. \u201cTim was\ninstrumental in guiding our members through one of the most challenging times\nin our history, assisting them in overcoming hurdles and refocusing them on new\nopportunities. On behalf of the NATA Board, members, and staff, I sincerely\nthank Tim for his years of service to the Association and look forward to great\nthings ahead under his guidance at Alder Fuels, as well as his continued\nadvocacy for sustainability initiatives in our industry,\u201d said Lowe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
With Castagna continuing his duties as President and CEO of\nAeroplex Group Partners, this leadership transition follows a succession plan\nset up by the Association several years ago to leverage the experience and\ndedication of its members to drive strategy and effect meaningful change in the\nindustry. Marty Hiller first served in this capacity in 2016, consistently\ndemonstrating his value to the Association through a keen understanding of its\nmembership\u2019s needs and insight in the development of innovative products and\nservices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Castagna will serve NATA\u2019s membership under this model,\nleveraging a proven industry background with a specific focus on trade\nassociation collaboration and stakeholder engagement to help take the\nAssociation into the next phase of flight. Prior to accepting the position,\nCastagna served over six years as an NATA Board Member including two years as\nBoard Chair and one year as Immediate Past Chair. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
