{"id":23068,"date":"2022-08-08T13:50:31","date_gmt":"2022-08-08T13:50:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=23068"},"modified":"2022-08-08T13:51:33","modified_gmt":"2022-08-08T13:51:33","slug":"rtca-and-nahf-launch-new-scholarship-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/aviation-education\/rtca-and-nahf-launch-new-scholarship-program\/%20","title":{"rendered":"RTCA and NAHF Launch New Scholarship Program"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The National Aviation Hall of Fame (NAHF) and RTCA, Inc. have\npartnered to create a new scholarship program targeted at educators teaching\ngrades Pre-K &#8211; 6th grade. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The purpose of the scholarship program is to support\neducators who are sharing the concepts of aviation and aerospace with students\nthrough the curriculum portion of the NAHF\u2019s education program Discovering\nFlight with the NAHF. The STEM\/STEAM-based, multidisciplinary curriculum,\nProblem Solving with Wilbur and Orville, is created by ThinkTV\/PBS and is a\npart of a course designed to empower educators and inspire students. The ideal\ncandidates are educators who have a special interest in enhancing their\nknowledge and abilities through professional development in STEM\/STEAM fields\nand who are pursuing continuing education credits in this area. RTCA and NAHF\nplan to award five scholarships in the next 12 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWith the unmatched power of PBS, the NAHF created a program\ndesigned to enable teachers to confidently teach STEM concepts\u201d, said Amy\nSpowart, President and CEO of the NAHF. \u201cThe generous scholarships provided\nthrough RTCA create an opportunity to bolster educators\u2019 knowledge of STEM by\nproviding support for additional development. We are thrilled by this\npartnership and what it offers educators.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The scholarship application will be available by September 30 and will be distributed in curriculum binders and through other channels including <a href=\"https:\/\/rtca.org\">https:\/\/rtca.org<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/nationalaviation.org\">https:\/\/nationalaviation.org<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The scholarship program supports both organizations\u2019 core values\nincluding demonstrating community support through enhanced STEM\/STEAM\neducational opportunities, particularly in underserved areas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are excited to team up with the National Aviation Hall\nof Fame on this unique and vital scholarship program\u201d, said RTCA President and\nCEO, Terry McVenes. \u201cThis program will provide a means for elementary school\neducators to confidently inspire future generations of aviation professionals\nthat will attract and enhance our great industry.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The National Aviation Hall of Fame (NAHF) and RTCA, Inc. have partnered to create a new scholarship program targeted at educators teaching grades Pre-K &#8211; 6th grade.
