Eberwein began her airline career as a\nflight attendant and spent the next 35 years advocating for team members,\ncreating a people-first culture, and driving forward-looking programs to make\nAmerican a premier place to work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNot only was Elise the driver to define our mission to care\nfor people on life\u2019s journey, she embodies that work every day,\u201d American CEO\nRobert Isom said. \u201cShe advocates tirelessly for our team, especially those\nwhose voices may be less likely to be heard and works to create career pathways\nfor all. Elise\u2019s leadership has helped us look not only at who we are today,\nbut who we want to be tomorrow. Launching this scholarship as we recruit the\nnext generation of aviators is the perfect way to honor her passion for people\nand progress.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The scholarship will annually award two candidates with $50,000 each to put toward the costs of pilot training through the <a href=\"https:\/\/aacadetacademy.com\/\">American Airlines Cadet Academy<\/a>.
