Recently, Steve Berry was promoted to Managing Director of Safety and Training. Joining Steve as the newest members of the NATA Safety 1st team are Brandon Popovich as its Manager of Safety and Training and Victoria Hantz as its first in-house Instructional Designer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Steve Berry first served as NATA\u2019s Training and Content\nManager before being promoted to Manager of Fuel Quality &amp; Safety. In his\nnew role as Managing Director of Safety and Training, Berry oversees NATA\u2019s\neducation and training programs including the Safety 1st Training Center, Fuel\nQuality Management System, and Safety 1st OnSite; fosters strategic\npartnerships that support and drive the growth of NATA\u2019s safety and training\ninitiatives; and collaborates with Association leadership on the strategic\nvision of NATA safety and training efforts. Berry also represents the\nassociation at industry meetings, hearings, and events including the Energy\nInstitute\u2019s Aviation Committee, the ATA 103 Working Group, NFPA\u2019s 407 and 418\nTechnical Committees, and NATA\u2019s GA Fuel Handling Subcommittee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSteve Berry has contributed greatly to NATA\u2019s success over\nthe past several years, building on his knowledge of the industry to help\nadvance our Safety 1st programs and evolving the Safety 1st Training Center\ninto the future,\u201d stated NATA COO Keith DeBerry. \u201cWe look forward to continuing\nto expand the Safety 1st team and programs under Steve\u2019s leadership.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Brandon Popovich was recently named as NATA\u2019s Manager of\nSafety and Training. In that role, he will focus on enhancing NATA\u2019s training\nand education programs, including expanding NATA Safety 1st OnSite \u2013 a\ncustomized, in-person program that supplements the Association\u2019s\nindustry-leading online courses. Popovich will also play an integral role in\nthe day-to-day operations of NATA\u2019s education and training department, assist\nin the management of its Safety 1st programs, and serve as staff liaison to the\nNATA Safety Committee. Over the past 25 years, Popovich has gained valuable\nexperience in and knowledge of FBO and ramp operations; customer service and\nteam leadership skills; and safety training, standards, and audits\u2014first in\nvarious line service roles at Showalter Flying Service and most recently as\nRegional Safety Officer at Wilson Air Center. In this position, he was\nresponsible for the safety and training of Wilson Air Center\u2019s four FBO bases,\nincluding administering NATA\u2019s Safety 1st program, conducting on-site safety\naudits, directing its safety communications, and ensuring customer care and\nsatisfaction. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Victoria Hantz serves as NATA\u2019s Instructional Designer,\ndriving the development and execution of the Association\u2019s Safety 1st education\nprograms as well as continuous enhancement of its learning management\ninterface. For the past 12 years, Victoria has channeled her passion for\ncreating interactive learning environments in the corporate, higher education\nand private sectors, as well as on various government contracts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are delighted to welcome Brandon and Victoria to NATA\nand the Safety 1st team,\u201d added DeBerry. \u201cBrandon truly understands the\nindustry and its connection to safety, while Victoria brings a deep\nunderstanding of the learning environment. Their vast experience and skill sets\nare invaluable assets to the Association as we continuously improve our\ntraining to anticipate member and industry needs.
