The museum addition is a two-story, 30,000 square foot facility to further develop aviation education and training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe education center was built to enhance aviation\neducation for kids and pilots unlike any other facility.\u201d said Jack J. Pelton,\nEAA\u2019s CEO and Chairman of the Board. \u201cPart of EAA\u2019s mission is to grow aviation\nparticipation by promoting the spirit of aviation and I think we are doing just\nthat with the educational and technological advancements that we now have\navailable in this new facility. Thank you to the donors that believed in our\nvision and made it a reality.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Ribbon-Cutting-10-Dan-and-Cate-Majka-Learning-labs-edit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-22774\" width=\"366\" height=\"243\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Ribbon-Cutting-10-Dan-and-Cate-Majka-Learning-labs-edit.jpg 700w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Ribbon-Cutting-10-Dan-and-Cate-Majka-Learning-labs-edit-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 366px) 100vw, 366px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The $6.2 million project, completely funded via a capital\ncampaign separate from EAA member dues, now features an innovative Pilot\nProficiency Center, a hands-on Youth Education Center, and the EAA Conference\nCenter. These facilities are adjacent to the museum\u2019s current Eagle Hangar and\nallows individuals and groups to experience all of EAA\u2019s resources on a\nyear-round basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Pilot Proficiency Center features a state-of-the-art\nskill building and training center for general aviation pilots. The 16 Redbird\nflight simulators, located in the Pilot Proficiency center, exhibit the\ngreatest technology available for aviation training and education. It combines\nrelevant safety forums with challenging simulator training sessions that\naddress key flight safety issues. The new facility focuses on improving pilots&#8217;\noverall aeronautical decision-making skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Youth Education Center brings aviation-centric\nexperiences to the EAA Aviation Museum year-round. The 15,000 square-foot Youth\nEducation Center provides youth, their parents, and their teachers access to\ninteractive and project-based activities that inspire and nurture the next\ngeneration of aviators. The education facility has five hands-on tech labs and\nfour modifiable classrooms. It serves as another example of EAA\u2019s dedication to\nfulfilling its mission through the advancement of aviation education for youth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Primary support of the EAA education center expansion is\nfrom the Ray Foundation, Inc., David C. Lau Estate, and an anonymous donor.\nAdditional support came from the Emil Buehler Perpetual Trust, The Brown\nFamily, Hank Menke, Jim Gorman, Tom and Julie Wood Family Foundation, Juan\nRodriguez, The JEK Foundation, Inc., Global Aerospace, Henry and Louise Timken\nFoundation, The Ward J. and Joy A.
