The airport hosted a\ngroundbreaking ceremony, Thursday, June 30, 2022, at the construction site\nlocated near the airport entrance on 400 Airport Drive, Greenville, NC 27834.\nThe hangars are scheduled for completion February 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Four hangars will be approximately 12,000 square feet and\ncapable of housing the largest Gulfstream aircraft to include the G-700 and\nG-800. The fifth hangar will be 6,400 square feet and capable of housing up to\na Cessna Citation Latitude business jet. The project is funded with CARES Act\nfunding provided by the Federal Aviation Administration. Engineering services\nand construction oversight is provided by Talbert &amp; Bright, Inc. of\nWilmington, NC and Dunn &amp; Dalton of Kinston, NC are the architects. The\ncontractor is Farrior &amp; Sons of Farmville, NC. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere is strong demand for hangars to house corporate\naircraft. These types of aircraft are critical to the growth and economic\nvitality of Pitt Greenville Airport and Eastern North Carolina\u201d, says Bill\nHopper, Pitt Greenville Airport Executive Director. \u201cAttracting based corporate\naircraft is the largest opportunity for growth at Pitt Greenville Airport.\nThese new hangars will be the catalyst for attracting that type of activity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are excited to add these hangars. The additional hangars\nwill greatly enhance our capacity to attract new corporate aircraft tenants\nthat will further stimulate commerce in our community.
