AAAE will make virtual BLI training\ncourses available to aviation workers through its various training services\nthat are used by hundreds of airports across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAAAE and the airport community are committed to fighting\nhuman trafficking,\u201d said Kyle Herbig, AAAE Vice President, Customer Solutions.\n\u201cPartnering with DHS and DOT on the Blue Lightning Initiative will help\nstandardize human trafficking awareness training and prevention for thousands\nof workers at hundreds of airports that rely on AAAE for compliance and\nsupplemental education and further unite us in our efforts to protect\nvulnerable individuals.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBLI is proud to announce a new partnership with AAAE,\u201d said\nKarinda L. Washington, Executive Director of Social Impact and Campaigns with\nthe Department of Homeland Security. \u201cThis partnership will make the BLI\ntraining accessible to AAAE\u2019s member airports nationwide and will further the\naviation industry\u2019s collective efforts to combat this heinous crime.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe DHS Center for Countering Human Trafficking (CCHT)\ncommends the Blue Lightning Initiative for being at the forefront of providing\nrelevant and impactful information to the aviation industry which has resulted in\na vital segment of the workforce being better equipped to recognize and respond\nto human trafficking,\u201d said CCHT Director Cardell T. Morant. \u201cThe Center\nappreciates our ongoing partnership with the Blue Campaign so together we can\nenhance the DHS mission to combat this egregious crime no matter where it\noccurs.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe U.S. Department of Transportation is proud to work with\nour partners across government and the aviation sector on critical\ncounter-trafficking efforts,\u201d said Julie Abraham, Director, Office of\nInternational Transportation and Trade at the U.S. Department of\nTransportation. \u201cWhen frontline aviation personnel are trained to recognize and\nreport suspected instances of human trafficking, actionable tips are reported\nto law enforcement to help stop the crime. This BLI partnership highlights the\ncommitment of the airport industry in joining airlines and industry\nassociations across the country to take a stand against human trafficking.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Human trafficking is one of the world\u2019s largest criminal\nenterprises. Raising awareness and identifying the signs of human trafficking\namongst airport workers can help prevent this crime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AAAE will make available across its computer-based training\nservices, Digicast, and Interactive Employee Training (IET), the latest virtual\nBLI training course developed for aviation employees by DHS and DOT.
