{"id":22660,"date":"2022-07-04T23:59:07","date_gmt":"2022-07-04T23:59:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=22660"},"modified":"2022-07-04T23:59:08","modified_gmt":"2022-07-04T23:59:08","slug":"van-nuys-airport-announces-recipients-of-2021-friendly-flyer-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/state-news\/california\/van-nuys-airport-announces-recipients-of-2021-friendly-flyer-awards\/%20","title":{"rendered":"Van Nuys Airport Announces Recipients of 2021 Friendly Flyer Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Van Nuys Airport (VNY) announced the recipients of its 2021\nFriendly Flyer Awards, honoring general aviation companies and corporate flight\ndepartments for their efforts to reduce noise from jet aircraft operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eighteen aircraft operators received recognition plaques for\ncomplying with all mandatory noise abatement policies, achieving at least 99\npercent adherence with all voluntary noise abatement programs and reducing\nnighttime jet arrivals and departures under the Quieter Nights Program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cVan Nuys Airport is pleased to recognize the exceptional\nachievements of aircraft operators that continually strive to achieve\nmeaningful noise reduction and address the concerns of airport neighbors,\u201d said\nVNY Airport Manager Flora Margheritis. \u201cWe have a long history of working in\nclose collaboration with tenants, users and operators to implement noise\nmitigation measures ahead of the entire industry, and we look forward to making\neven greater strides in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the past four decades, VNY has implemented a wide\nvariety of robust noise abatement programs and policies. Mandatory efforts\nbegan with the establishment of a partial nighttime departure curfew in 1981,\nfollowed by a rule prohibiting the addition of Stage 2 aircraft in 2002 and a\nnoisier jet phase-out in 2009. These regulations, along with voluntary measures\n\u2013 such as the No Early Turn, Helicopter Route and Altitude Deviation, Quiet Jet\nDeparture and Quieter Nights Programs \u2013 depend on the ongoing compliance of\nboth based and transient pilots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Award winners include: 601 Holdings, LLC; Aero Technologies,\nInc.; Chrysler Aviation, Inc.; Executive Jet Management, Inc.; Jet Aviation\nFlight Services, Inc.; Jet Edge International; Jet Linx Aviation, LLC; Las\nVegas, LLC; Latitude 33 Aviation; Four Corners Aviation (formerly known as\nMillbrook Air); Mountain Aviation, LLC; Regency Air, LLC; Sun Air Jets, LLC;\nWheels Up Private Jets, LLC; Windairwest, LLC; Wonderful Citrus Aviation;\nWorldwide Jet Charter, Inc.; and XCEL Jet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2019, Los Angeles World Airports introduced a new\nmobile-friendly website that provides quick and easy access to\nneighborhood-specific information about aircraft operations at VNY.
