The successful applicants must\nhave a proven record of academic achievement and a demonstrated financial need.\nStudents must be a Massachusetts resident and be enrolled, or accepted for\nenrollment, in an accredited aviation-related undergraduate program for the\nperiod covered by the scholarship. One or more scholarships will be awarded to\nstudents pursuing a degree in Airport Management or in an aviation-related\nfield such as Airport Operations, Civil Engineering, or Airport Planning, but\nnot including Air Traffic Control, Commercial Aviation, or Flight Education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An application form can be found here or at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.massairports.com\/\">www.massairports.com<\/a>. The deadline to apply is August 31, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Crocker Snow&#8217;s Influence<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Crocker-Snow.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-22634\" width=\"279\" height=\"168\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Crocker-Snow.jpg 539w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Crocker-Snow-300x181.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 279px) 100vw, 279px\" \/><figcaption><em>Crocker Snow<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The scholarship program is named in honor of Massachusetts&#8217;\naviation pioneer Crocker Snow, who served as the first director of the\nMassachusetts Aeronautics Commission beginning in 1939, a position he held\nuntil the late 1970&#8217;s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An aviation enthusiast since childhood, Snow had already\nsoloed and established the first fixed base operation at Boston Municipal\nAirport by the time he graduated from Harvard University in 1929. Later, he\ndeveloped many innovative airport and flight operational procedures used\nnationally and served several terms on the Board of the National Aeronautics\nAssociation (NAA), the Board of the National Aeronautics Association (NAA) and\nas president of the National Association of State Aviation Officials (NASAO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now celebrating its 50th anniversary, the Massachusetts\nAirport Management Association is a member-based organization dedicated to\npromoting and advocating for a healthy Massachusetts aviation industry through\nits thirty-five public use airports.
