Textron Aviation has announced the successful first flight\nof its second Beechcraft Denali flight test article as momentum builds for the\nclean-sheet aircraft\u2019s certification program. The milestone flight follows the\nDenali prototype, which completed its first flight in November 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The second test aircraft joins the first Denali prototype in\nthe important flight test program that substantiates the segment-leading\nperformance expected of the Denali. The aircraft\u2019s flight lasted two hours and\none minute, reaching a max altitude of 15,500 feet with a max speed of 240\nktas. To date, the program has accumulated more than 250 flight hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis flight is another vitally important step for the\nBeechcraft Denali program as the aircraft will be used primarily for testing\naircraft systems like avionics, cabin environmental control and ice\nprotection,\u201d said Chris Hearne, senior vice president, Engineering & Programs.\n\u201cThe team has made great progress, accomplishing key goals in the flight test\nprogram, and the Denali team heads into the second half of 2022 with a great\ndeal of momentum.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Denali flight test certification program is expected to\neventually include a third flight test article and three full airframe ground\ntest articles as it expands operational goals focusing on testing aircraft\nsystems, engine, avionics and overall performance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
