The race\nbegins at 7 a.m. at the Ultralight Barn and is open to everyone, including\nwalkers, first-time runners, and seasoned athletes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021-08-03-Runway-5k-Feature-Box-350.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-22517\" width=\"285\" height=\"285\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021-08-03-Runway-5k-Feature-Box-350.jpg 350w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021-08-03-Runway-5k-Feature-Box-350-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021-08-03-Runway-5k-Feature-Box-350-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021-08-03-Runway-5k-Feature-Box-350-60x60.jpg 60w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 285px) 100vw, 285px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The 5K route is a tour through the AirVenture grounds.\nAttendees can expect to see aircraft from all over the world and much of\nAirVenture\u2019s unique atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Runway 5K race is one of my favorite events at\nAirVenture because of the participants and their excitement to be here,\u201d said\nJacqui Gunn, EAA\u2019s coordinator for this event. \u201cI don\u2019t think anywhere else in\nWisconsin provides a 5K experience like this where the route takes you directly\nthrough the grounds of an aviation celebration and gets you up close with\ndifferent aircraft.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Attendees do not need AirVenture admission to participate in\nthe race and do have the opportunity to purchase discounted July 30 admission\ntickets. Free parking is available in the Z lot, near the ultralight barn, the\nmorning of the race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Standard registration is open June 11- July 29. Individuals\nmay also register the day of the race, July 30. The registration includes an\nofficial event T-shirt, post-race food, refreshments, and access to shower\nfacilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Runway 5K is presented by Covington Aircraft with additional support from Oshkosh Corporation, 4imprint, 103.9 WVBO and 96.9 The Fox.
