The aircraft flew for 1 hour\nand 26 minutes over the Mojave Desert and reached an altitude of 15,000 feet\n(4572 m). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Stratolaunch_Roc_Takeoff_Flight_6-edit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-22451\" width=\"342\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Stratolaunch_Roc_Takeoff_Flight_6-edit.jpg 500w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Stratolaunch_Roc_Takeoff_Flight_6-edit-300x197.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 342px) 100vw, 342px\" \/><figcaption><em>Stratolaunch&#8217;s Roc carrier aircraft takes off from Mojave Air and Space Port during its sixth flight test on June 9, 2022.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The sixth flight focused on continuing Roc&#8217;s flight envelope\nexpansion with the recent addition of the pylon on the aircraft&#8217;s center wing.\nThe pylon, comprised of a mini-wing and adapter, will be used to safely carry\nand release reusable, rocket-powered Talon-A hypersonic vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the test program, the team encountered results that\ndetermined they would not complete the full set of test objectives. Therefore,\nthe team focused on accomplishing:&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Continued validation of the aircraft&#8217;s general performance\nand handling characteristics, with the addition of the recently installed pylon\nhardware<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Continued validation of landing gear operations including\ndoor functionality, and alternate gear extension<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Today&#8217;s flight builds on previous successful flights\nand hardware enhancements,&#8221; said Dr. Zachary Krevor, Stratolaunch Chief\nExecutive Officer and President. &#8220;We will leverage this flight experience\nas we complete integrated testing in the coming months and prepare for Talon-A\ntest flights.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Stratolaunch team recently integrated the TA-0\nseparation test vehicle with the carrier aircraft for the first time, signaling\na priority push toward captive carry and separation testing happening later\nthis year. The team is also making steady progress on system integration its\nfirst hypersonic flight test vehicle, TA-1 and on the fabrication of a third\nvehicle, TA-2, the first fully reusable hypersonic test vehicle.
