This means it is the\nfirst ever full-size electric jet aircraft to transition from hover to\nwing-borne flight. This is a landmark moment for Lilium and for electric\naviation as a whole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From a flight physics perspective, completing transition means\nthe airflow going over the flaps attaches and becomes smooth, allowing the lift\nto be generated by the wing (as in conventional fixed wing aircraft), rather\nthan by the engines (which is the case during the hovering phase).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Phoenix 2 has now achieved this milestone across the entire\nmain wing while, most importantly, remaining stable and behaving as predicted\nby Lilium\u2019s proprietary Flight Dynamics Model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Matthias Meiner, Phoenix Chief Engineer and Lilium\nCo-Founder of Lilium said: \u201cMain wing transition is a huge step forward on our\npath to launch and it validates our Flight Dynamics Model.
