Brian O\u2019Neill\nreceived the 2022 Airport Executive of the Year Award, Charlie McDermott\nreceived the 2022 Corporate Member of the Year Award, and Alice Bimrose\nreceived the President\u2019s Award.&nbsp; Each\nhonoree has made lasting positive impacts on airports in Arizona, and AzAA\nrecognizes their outstanding contributions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Brian-ONeill.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-22337\" width=\"154\" height=\"209\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Brian-ONeill.jpg 348w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Brian-ONeill-221x300.jpg 221w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 154px) 100vw, 154px\" \/><figcaption><em>Brian O&#8217;Neill<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Brian O\u2019Neill, A.A.E., who currently serves as Executive\nDirector and CEO at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport Authority (PMGAA), was awarded\nAirport Executive of the Year. He joined PMGAA in 2015 and prior to that worked\nat Manchester-Boston Regional Airport for twenty years. He serves on the Board\nfor the Mesa Chamber of Commerce, Visit Mesa, East Valley Partnership, and\nTempe Tourism Board. Under Mr. O\u2019Neill\u2019s leadership Gateway Airport has\nexperienced unprecedented recovery from the pandemic, setting records for five of\nthe last seven months. 2021 was Gateway Airports second-best year on record\nwith 15 new destinations added. PMGAA also announced that Gulfstream Aerospace\nwould be making the largest private investment in airport history by building a\n$70, million 250,000 square-foot MRO facility. In addition, he led the\nannouncement and recruitment of a master developer for Gateway East, a 400-acre\nnon-aeronautical, mixed-use development that will begin in 2022. Brian is an\nactive member of AzAA, testifying in the Arizona legislature in support of AzAA\nissues, and encourages staff membership. Finally, Brian supports an internship\nwith ASU Polytechnic and the Mesa Leadership Program as well as a\njust-announced partnership with ASU on an airport student volunteer program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Charlie-McDermott.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-22336\" width=\"172\" height=\"172\"\/><figcaption><em>Charlie McDermott<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Charlie McDermott, LEED AP was named 2022 Corporate Member\nof the Year. Mr. McDermott is the Aviation Planning Manager at Dibble. In his\n35 years working in the aviation consulting industry, Charlie has worked at\nover 100 airports, from general aviation to large hub commercial service, in 17\ndifferent states. Since moving to Arizona over 10 years ago he has been active\nwith AzAA twice serving as Corporate Director. Charlie specializes in airport\nplanning and environmental issues at airports, especially as it relates to FAA\nrequirements and grant funding. Of note he created a vision for sustainable\nairport master planning and worked with his client at Ithaca Tompkins Regional\nAirport (New York) to develop a master plan fully incorporating sustainability\ninto the planning process. This master plan project was nationally recognized.\nIn Arizona he has led Master Plan projects at both Prescott Regional Airport\nand Buckeye Municipal Airport as well as serving as the President of the\nScottsdale Airport Advisory Commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Alice-Bimroseedit.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-22335\" width=\"159\" height=\"214\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Alice-Bimroseedit.jpg 400w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Alice-Bimroseedit-223x300.jpg 223w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 159px) 100vw, 159px\" \/><figcaption><em>Alice Bimrose<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Alice Bimrose, A.A.E., ACE, received the President\u2019s Award\nand is Special Projects Administrator in the Facilities &amp; Services Division\nat City of Phoenix Aviation Department. Ms. Bimrose has worked for the city for\nover 24 years in Public Relations, Capital Management, Design &amp;\nConstruction, Business Office, Directors Office, and HR. Before joining the city,\nshe worked in private and non-profit organizations. Alice has been a member\nwith AzAA since 2003 and has served on the Board since 2019. She\u2019s also\nconsistently active with both SWAAAE and WTS. She has served on multiple\nconference committee\u2019s and chaired the 2022 AzAA Spring Conference Committee.\nAlice is an Accredited Airport Executive and Airport Certified Employee.
