The\nevent was produced in partnership with CityCURRENT. Following are this year\u2019s\nwinners:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Paintings<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1st Place: Meredith Dai, Collierville High\nSchool, \u201cKoi at the Memphis Botanic Gardens\u201d<\/li><li>2nd Place: Taylor Nelson, Collierville High\nSchool, \u201cPeabody from Below\u201d<\/li><li>3rd Place: Eleanor Hsueh, Houston High School,\n\u201cMemphis Smorgasbord\u201d<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Photographs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1st Place: Maddox McPherson, City University\nSchool of Liberal Arts, \u201cArea Code 901\u201d<\/li><li>2nd Place: Brooklynn Hellums, Bartlett High\nSchool, \u201cMetal Museum\u201d<\/li><li>3rd Place: Natalia Ramos, Bartlett High School,\n\u201cRemembrance\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>All finalists will receive a certificate and the winners\nwill receive the following prizes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1st place: $300<\/li><li>2nd Place: $200<\/li><li>3rd Place: $100<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The winners were selected by a panel of judges from the\nlocal art community, including representatives from the University of Memphis,\nthe Withers Collection Museum &amp; Gallery, UrbanArt Commission, Christian\nBrothers University, Urevbu Contemporary and the Dixon Gallery and Gardens.\nThere were nine judges this year. The airport received 96 submissions for the\nart contest with 43 selected as finalists. There were 79 photography\nsubmissions, from which 36 finalists were chosen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students are provided art supplies by the airport\u2019s community foundation for the contest, and the finalists\u2019 pieces are displayed throughout the airport for one year. Most pieces are available for purchase by the public, and all proceeds go directly to the student artist. Some airport retailers may also sell items that feature students\u2019 artwork, with proceeds from those sales going to help purchase art supplies for the contest. The student art exhibit is independent of the B Concourse art collection and will be located in the connector between the B and C concourses.
