Overair joins a\ngrowing Urban Air Mobility Partnership led by UML. The partnership will focus\non community, government, and industry engagement to ensure a collaborative\napproach to implementing safe, equitable, convenient, and sustainable urban air\nmobility technology. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Overair will work with UML and the Urban Air Mobility Partnership\nto explore operational and infrastructure development considerations.\nAdditionally, Overair will help study the noise impacts of eVTOL vehicles and\nsupport community engagement efforts to plan workforce and economic development\nopportunities within the new UAM industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Overair aims to position their groundbreaking eVTOL vehicle\n&#8220;Butterfly&#8221; as an alternative transportation choice within\nmetropolitan areas. Each Butterfly will carry up to six people (five passengers\nand a pilot), or 1100 pounds of cargo, and will be able to travel distances of\napproximately 100 miles and speeds up to 200 mph while being powered by clean\nall-electric propulsion. Based in Orange County, California, Overair&#8217;s rapidly\ngrowing team plans to initiate commercial operations in 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Our partnership with Urban Movement Labs is a step\nforward on our path to future operations,&#8221; said Ben Tigner, CEO, and\nCo-Founder of Overair. &#8220;The Los Angeles metro area can benefit greatly\nfrom advanced air mobility, given the increased travel times in Southern\nCalifornia on a daily basis.
