{"id":22182,"date":"2022-05-23T00:15:04","date_gmt":"2022-05-23T00:15:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=22182"},"modified":"2022-05-23T00:15:05","modified_gmt":"2022-05-23T00:15:05","slug":"gama-president-ceo-testifies-before-congress-regarding-the-environmental-sustainability-of-general-aviation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/state-news\/district-of-columbia\/gama-president-ceo-testifies-before-congress-regarding-the-environmental-sustainability-of-general-aviation\/%20","title":{"rendered":"GAMA President &#038; CEO Testifies before Congress Regarding the Environmental Sustainability of General Aviation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Last Tuesday, May 17, 2022, General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) President and CEO, Pete Bunce, testified before the U.S. House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, Subcommittee on Aviation, in a hearing entitled, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/transportation.house.gov\/committee-activity\/hearings\/preparing-for-take-off-examining-efforts-to-address-climate-change-at-us-airports\">Preparing for Take-Off:<\/a> Examining Efforts to Address Climate Change at U.S. Airports\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his testimony, Bunce described the efforts which business\nand general aviation manufacturing companies and maintenance and service\nproviders have undertaken to support environmental sustainability and address\nclimate change. This included manufacturing and technology advancements which\nproduce and deliver products that are sustainable and more efficient than their\npredecessors, and renewed efforts to address aircraft emissions in business and\ngeneral aviation, such as with the increased production and uptake of\nsustainable aviation fuels (SAF). Bunce also championed the emerging Advanced\nAir Mobility sector which may foster sustainable transportation. Additionally,\nhe commended Chair Larsen and Ranking Member Graves for convening the hearing\nand prioritizing and working with aviation stakeholders to examine the\nresources and programs needed to achieve a more sustainable aviation future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the hearing, Bunce highlighted the industry\u2019s\ncollaborative sustainability work on the Eliminate Aviation Gasoline Lead\nEmissions (EAGLE) initiative, spurring investments in innovation and\ntechnological advancements, and reducing aviation noise.
