{"id":21885,"date":"2022-05-01T13:22:38","date_gmt":"2022-05-01T13:22:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=21885"},"modified":"2022-05-01T13:22:40","modified_gmt":"2022-05-01T13:22:40","slug":"condor-airlines-relaunching-nonstop-frankfurt-service-from-msp-airport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/state-news\/minnesota\/condor-airlines-relaunching-nonstop-frankfurt-service-from-msp-airport\/%20","title":{"rendered":"Condor Airlines Relaunching Nonstop Frankfurt Service from MSP Airport"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Amid continuing signs of air travel\u2019s recovery, Condor\nAirlines will resume its seasonal nonstop Frankfurt, Germany, service on June 1\nfrom Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) after a two-year hiatus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cCondor\u2019s direct service to Frankfurt is another sign of a\nrebound in international travel, and we\u2019re confident there will be strong\ndemand this summer on this returning route from MSP,\u201d said Brian Ryks, CEO of\nthe Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC), which operates MSP. \u201cWe\u2019re thrilled\nto welcome more European travelers to the region and to give Minnesotans a new\nopportunity to visit Germany and beyond.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Condor\u2019s Frankfurt hub provides connecting service to more\nthan 100 destinations throughout Europe via Condor and a network of airline and\nrail partners including Lufthansa, SAS, Aegean Airlines, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDue to the pandemic, travel to Europe from the U.S. was\nonly accessible to a limited extent for the past two summers. As a result, we\nare seeing an increasing amount of pent-up demand from Americans who are now\neager to visit Europe,\u201d said Mathias Friess, Condor\u2019s vice president and area\nmanager, North America. \u201cWe are pleased to return to Minneapolis-St. Paul and\nprovide travellers from the Twin Cities with a more affordable way to get to\nEurope this summer.\u201d&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Condor will operate flights on Mondays, Wednesdays and\nFridays departing MSP at 6:45 p.m. on a Boeing 767-300 aircraft that features\nthree classes of service (Economy, Premium and Business, featuring lie-flat\nseats, a personal in-seat, premium touch-screen entertainment system, power\nports at every seat, and premium menus with complimentary non-alcoholic and\nalcoholic beverages). Passenger demand from the MSP market to Frankfurt (FRA)\nis approximately 16,000 passengers per year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Condor\u2019s announcement comes as passenger activity at MSP has\nbeen strong, especially through the spring break travel season. In March, MSP\nrecorded nine of the 10 busiest TSA checkpoint days in the past two years\nduring the pandemic, with a peak day of nearly 40,000 passengers.
