The bills will be sent to the\nHouse floor for consideration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"226\" height=\"48\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/NASAO-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-21878\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cState aviation officials are pleased to see Congress\nproactively providing practical assistance to local authorities and other\nstakeholders to prepare for the future of Aviation\u201d, said Greg Pecoraro,\nPresident and CEO.\u201d These two bills will help state, local, and tribal\ngovernment agencies as well as many others to plan for and make use of exciting\nnew aviation technologies, and to integrate them safely and effectively into\nthe National Airspace System.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Drone Infrastructure Inspection Grant Act, introduced by\nRepresentatives Greg Stanton (D-AZ-9) and Garret Graves (R-LA-6), authorizes a\ngrant program to state, local, and tribal governments to purchase drones for\ninfrastructure inspection purposes and to community colleges\/universities to\nsupport drone education and workforce training programs. NASAO urged House\nTransportation and Infrastructure Committee members to vote in favor of the\nbill at the committee\u2019s mark up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Advanced Aviation Infrastructure Modernization Act,\nintroduced by Representatives Rick Larsen (D-WA-2), Garret Graves (R-LA-6), and\nDina Titus (D-NV-1), authorizes a grant program to state, local, and tribal\ngovernments, transit agencies, port authorities, and metropolitan planning\norganizations to plan the infrastructure needed to facilitate AAM operations\nand construction for public-use vertiports. NASAO is a key supporter of this\nbill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The National Center for the Advancement of Aviation Act,\nintroduced by Representative Andre Carson (D-IN-7) and the late Don Young\n(R-AK-At Large), establishes a national, independent forum to facilitate\ncollaboration and cooperation between all sectors of aviation and aerospace to\ncoordinate, promote, and support the future of aviation. The House bill is a\ncompanion to the Senate version (S.1752) introduced in May 2021 by Senators Jim\nInhofe (R-OK) and Tammy Duckworth (D-IL).
