Prior to adding this new feature, pilots had to call the Office of Aerospace Medicine to check their application status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIf you can track where your ridesharing car is or the\nstatus of a company delivering your package, pilots should be able to see\nonline the real-time status of their application,\u201d said Federal Air Surgeon Dr.\nSusan Northrup \u201cWe will continue to explore how we can be more transparent with\nthe aviation community.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As soon as an application is submitted, it will appear in\nthe pilot\u2019s MedXPress profile. Status updates will change as the application\nmoves through the FAA\u2019s review process. If an application is deferred or\ndenied, the applicant will receive detailed information through the mail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The certification process itself does not change.
