The new terminal building has been primarily funded through federal\nand state sources including a more than $2 million grant provided by the\nVirginia Department of Aviation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The Hanover County Airport is an important part of the\nCommonwealth&#8217;s aviation system of airports, and it provides critical access to\nthe growing county and the surrounding areas,\u201d Virginia Department of Aviation\nDirector Greg Campbell said. \u201cThe airport&#8217;s location, along with this new\nimpressive general aviation terminal will serve the community by providing a\nwelcoming gateway and capable facility for general aviation in Hanover and the\nadjoining jurisdictions. The Virginia Department of Aviation is pleased to have\npartnered with the county and to have provided support for this new\nterminal.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Hanover County Airport is a General Aviation Reliever\nAirport for Richmond International. Just over 100 aircraft are based in Hanover\nCounty.
