DIFCO, Inc.\u00ae of Davenport, IA, initiated construction on\nAmerica’s first electric Vertical Take Off and Landing (eVTOL) vertiport\nfacility in Rock Island, Illinois. Officially named; The Corporal Jason G.\nPautsch Vertiport, the site is located centrally within the four Quad Cities\nmetropolitan area and will include corporate hangar facilities for lease,\nrefueling services, an executive pilot lounge, prototype visual navigational\naid beacon, and an area navigation (RNAV) instrumentation approach and\ndeparture egress. DIFCO, Inc.\u00ae partnered with rotorcraft aviation legends\nHughes Aerospace and Five Alpha L.L.C. on the development in early 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DIFCO, Inc.\u00ae Chief Executive Officer, Jake Pautsch has\nannounced the project to help familiarize the community with eVTOL and VTOL and\nthe future resources available to them by anchoring a significant hospital’s\naero-medical aviation division to the site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a public announcement, Mr. Pautsch said, “We are\nexcited to be pioneering with our team. The vertiport will supply QC metro\nmedical patients with safer and faster high-end access to aero-medical\ntransport. In addition to supporting traditional rotorcraft the\nstate-of-the-art facility will support the rising, electric battery-powered\neVTOL aircraft.” Pautsch also notes, “Numerous, one-of-a-kind\ncomponents of the project are unheard of in this industry and will increase\nsafety. In addition, use of advanced technology will manage power production\ndemands that eVTOL aircraft require without drawing from traditional energy\ngrid power. Evaluating the massive power demands of electric aircraft is a\nmoral responsibility. We have integrated components to be renewably\nconscience.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n
