Rocheleau has been named the association\u2019s new chief operating\nofficer, overseeing NBAA\u2019s activities relating to aircraft and flight\ndepartment operations, as well as the administrative, financial and human\nresources functions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Chris-Rocheleau.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-21658\" width=\"164\" height=\"240\"\/><figcaption><em>Chris Rocheleau<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Rocheleau will join NBAA in June, succeeding Steve Brown,\nwho is retiring later this year after 18 years of distinguished service to\nNBAA, and an exemplary aviation career spanning several decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are extremely pleased to welcome Chris to NBAA,\u201d said association\nPresident and CEO Ed Bolen. \u201cHe is enormously well-respected on Capitol Hill,\nwithin the FAA and all across the aviation industry. He is a proven leader and\na true professional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt would be impossible to overstate Steve\u2019s contributions\nto NBAA and aviation,\u201d Bolen continued. \u201cHe represents all the very best our\nindustry and country has to offer. He has had a profound impact on aviation in\nthe United States and around the world, and we wish him well as he begins this\nnew chapter.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rocheleau has served the FAA with distinction for over 20\nyears in multiple roles including acting associate administrator for aviation\nsafety, chief of staff, assistant administrator for policy, international\naffairs and environment, executive director for international affairs and\ndirector of the office of emergency operations and investigations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before joining the agency, he served as an officer and\nspecial agent with the United States Air Force, retiring from the USAF Reserve\nin 2010 as a lieutenant colonel. He was also among the first leaders of the\nTransportation Security Administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rocheleau holds a bachelor\u2019s degree from Central Connecticut\nState University and a Master of Public Administration from City University of\nSeattle. He also completed the Executive National Security Program at Harvard\u2019s\nKennedy School of Government and USAF Air Command and Staff College.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Brown joined NBAA in October 2004 as senior vice president\nof operations before being named COO in 2010.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Steve-Brown-edit-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-21659\" width=\"156\" height=\"182\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Steve-Brown-edit-1.jpg 338w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Steve-Brown-edit-1-257x300.jpg 257w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 156px) 100vw, 156px\" \/><figcaption><em>Steve Brown<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to joining NBAA, he served for six years as the FAA\u2019s\nassociate administrator for air traffic services. Before that, he served as\npresident of the National Aeronautic Association (NAA) and senior vice\npresident, government affairs for the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association\n(AOPA). He was a member of the faculty at Texas A&amp;M University, where he\ntaught several aviation-related courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Brown serves as chairman of the board of directors of RTCA,\na not-for-profit aviation standards organization. Additionally, he serves on\nthe Aviation Accreditation Board International, where he previously was\nchairperson and treasurer. In 2021, he was named to the TSA Aviation Security\nAdvisory Committee, which is tasked with providing recommendations for\nimproving aviation security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the past year, Brown has been honored by the NAA as a\nDistinguished Statesman of Aviation. In 2002, he received the Department of\nTransportation\u2019s 9\/11 Medal, in recognition of his leadership in restoring the\nsafety and security of aviation operations following the Sept. 11, 2001\nterrorist attacks. That same year, he was similarly recognized for his\nexemplary work after 9\/11 with the Experimental Aviation Association\u2019s (EAA\u2019s)\nFreedom of Flight Award, the organization\u2019s highest honor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) has announced that senior Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) executive Christopher J.
