The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) is pleased\nto announce that Director, Environmental and Technical Operations Stewart\nD\u2019Leon, CAM, has been invited to join the Board of Directors of the Aerospace\nMaintenance Council (AMC) and Sierra Grimes, senior manager for government\naffairs, has been named to the Red Tail Flight Academy Board of Directors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNBAA and the industry are fortunate to have leaders such as\nStewart and Sierra working on behalf of business aviation,\u201d said NBAA President\nand CEO Ed Bolen. \u201cWe know they will bring knowledge, expertise,\nprofessionalism and enthusiasm to the boards upon which they will serve.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AMC is a non-profit organization that promotes and supports\naviation maintenance professionals and raises awareness of the knowledge and\nskills required to maintain safe, airworthy aircraft. With his three-year\nappointment, D\u2019Leon will be business aviation\u2019s primary representative on AMC\u2019s\nnew board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stewart D’Leon<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Before joining NBAA, D\u2019Leon worked for 14 years at\nGulfstream Aerospace Corp., where he became field service representative at\nAndrews Air Force Base in Maryland. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four\nyears before working at Gulfstream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He holds a bachelor\u2019s degree in professional aeronautics and\na master\u2019s degree in aeronautical science, both from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical\nUniversity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAviation safety has been a central focus of my career, and\nI am grateful to AMC for this opportunity to provide the business aviation\ncommunity\u2019s perspective in such a critical forum,\u201d said D\u2019Leon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Red Tail Flight Academy promotes the legacy of the\nTuskegee Airmen through community engagement and mentoring programs that impact\nyouth traditionally underrepresented in aviation and other STEM-related fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sierra Grimes<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Grimes has been with NBAA since 2012, serving in a\nregistration capacity before joining its government affairs team in 2020. She\nis the founder of the NBAA Young Professionals (YoPro) program, a leading\ninitiative promoting diversity and development within the business aviation\nindustry globally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She serves on the executive team for the Runway Program, a\nyoung professionals group for the Aero Club of Washington; the DE&I\nCommittee for the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE)\nand is past chair of the Young Professionals Board for Women In Aviation\nInternational.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
