The contest is co-sponsored\nby the Kansas Commission on Aerospace Education (KCAE).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis art contest showcases the talent of our next\ngeneration and inspires us to share their enthusiasm for a bright future in\naviation,\u201d said Bob Brock, KDOT Director of Aviation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A private award ceremony was scheduled in the Kansas\nstatehouse on Wednesday, March 30. The event was to include a photo opportunity\nwith Governor Laura Kelly, a historical statehouse tour and refreshments. The\nfirst-place winner in each age group receives a prize package from KCAE,\nincluding a drone and several other prizes. All state winners will be submitted\nto the International Aviation Art Contest hosted by F\u00e9d\u00e9ration A\u00e9ronautique Internationale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBringing the \u2018art\u2019 of aviation to the classroom engages\nstudents\u2019 creativity while highlighting careers in science, technology,\nengineering, art and mathematics,\u201d said Logan Falletti-Wright, President of\nKCAE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The contest celebrates the adventure and excitement of\naviation with the theme, \u201cDesign Your Perfect Aircraft.\u201d Over 120 pieces of art\nwere submitted by Kansas students ages 6-17, with winners listed below.
