{"id":21550,"date":"2022-04-03T21:04:51","date_gmt":"2022-04-03T21:04:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/saj.pachecostudios.com?p=21550"},"modified":"2022-04-03T21:04:56","modified_gmt":"2022-04-03T21:04:56","slug":"aopa-announces-2022-events","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/index.php\/national-news\/aopa-announces-2022-events\/%20","title":{"rendered":"AOPA ANNOUNCES 2022 EVENTS"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association has released its\n2022 schedule of events \u2013 a brand-new take on aviation fly-ins, or\u2014Hangouts as the\nAssociation is calling them this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 2014, AOPA has seen more than 100,000 attendees at their\ngatherings around the country and this year AOPA is looking forward to new\nadventures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can join AOPA in the Pacific Northwest and sunny Southeast as their destinations for flying in and camping out. The fun begins September 9 and 10 at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aopa.org\/destinations\/airports\/SFF\/details\">Felts Field Airport<\/a> (KSFF) in Spokane, Washington, followed by a Hangout on November 4 and 5 at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aopa.org\/destinations\/airports\/VDF\/details\">Tampa Executive Airport<\/a> (KVDF) in Tampa, Florida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/AOPA-Eventedit-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-21551\" width=\"327\" height=\"217\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/AOPA-Eventedit-1.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/AOPA-Eventedit-1-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 327px) 100vw, 327px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>These events offer a mix of fun, food, learning, and a\nchance to renew old friendships and forge new ones. AOPA Hangouts will offer\nthe ultimate experience for pilots and aviation enthusiasts looking for an\nadventurous escape back to the grassroots fun of general aviation flying.\nDuring these two-day informal events, attendees can pitch a tent, participate\nin educational seminars, swap stories, and enjoy friendly camaraderie around\nthe campfire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stroll through aircraft displays, mingle with aviation vendors,\nand connect with like-minded individuals while enjoying food trucks, live\nmusic, and entertainment. Attendees will also have the chance to meet with AOPA\nstaff and socialize with top aviation influencers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Guests can also expect an exciting afternoon of world-class\naviators facing off in a high-energy STOL competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are thrilled to introduce these new Hangouts in 2022.\nWhile a departure from our normal big-scale events, pilots and aviation\nenthusiasts can bet on an unforgettable experience commemorating the fun and\nsimplicity of GA flying,\u201d said AOPA Director of Outreach and Events Elizabeth\nO\u2019Connell. \u201cWe look forward to gathering with our members and attracting new\naudiences who all share a passion for aviation. This will be a fly-in season to\nremember.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The cost to attend the Hangouts will be $20 for AOPA members\nand $30 for non-members, which includes admission for both days. Pilots are\nencouraged to check back on AOPA\u2019s website for more information in the coming\nweeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to AOPA\u2019s two Hangout events, AOPA will be returning with another Aviator Showcase in 2022 at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aopa.org\/destinations\/airports\/KAFW\/details\">Fort Worth<\/a> Alliance Airport (KAFW) in Fort Worth, Texas, on June 16 and 17. This event will be an exclusive gathering with industry-leading experts in avionics and cockpit technology, flight planning and weather resources, and aircraft manufacturing and sales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Aviator Showcase will feature an exhibit hall, aircraft\ndisplay, and educational seminars presented by event sponsors. For pilots\nlooking to upgrade or still searching for the perfect aircraft, local services\nsuch as paint shops, avionics manufacturers, and aircraft detailers will be on\nhand to help.
