It further supports future Airport Capital Improvement Plan\n(ACIP) grant projects,\u201d said Brown. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Brown also reported completion of a $2.5M project to improve\napproximately 98,000 square yards of paved general aviation aircraft aprons on\nthe civilian side of the airport. \u201cCompletion of this project fixed areas that\nhad severe cracking and spalling due to the extreme weather conditions. There\nwere areas in which the Airport was able to preserve by crack filling and fog\nsealing, and two areas in which required full reconstruction of the pavement.\u201d\nBrown shared the Airport Authority awarded the construction contract for this\nproject in July 2021 to Cemex Construction Materials South, LLC and\nconstruction oversight to Nicklaus Engineering, Inc. \u201cThis project affected our\ngeneral aviation, and the Airport truly appreciated their patience as we made\nthese necessary improvements for their safety.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Hero-Hangars-Complete.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-21398\" width=\"307\" height=\"138\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Hero-Hangars-Complete.jpg 640w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Hero-Hangars-Complete-300x136.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 307px) 100vw, 307px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEach of these important projects are part of the Airport\u2019s Capital Improvement Program,&#8221; stated Brown. &#8220;The Yuma International Airport truly appreciates State and Federal grant funding received from the FAA and ADOT for the successful completion of these two projects.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yuma International Airport has announced the successful completion of two major projects, the 2020 Airport Master Plan and the Rehabilitation of the General Aprons.
