Department of Transportation\u2019s Division of Aviation\nannounced the winners of this year\u2019s North Carolina Aviation Art Contest, an\nannual competition among students across the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NCDOT received 1,322 entries in this year\u2019s contest. After\nweeks of judging and voting, the winners were announced in the following three\nage groups:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022-02-17-ncdot-aviation-art-contest-1-744x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-21260\" width=\"244\" height=\"336\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022-02-17-ncdot-aviation-art-contest-1-744x1024.jpg 744w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022-02-17-ncdot-aviation-art-contest-1-218x300.jpg 218w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022-02-17-ncdot-aviation-art-contest-1.jpg 750w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 244px) 100vw, 244px\" \/><figcaption><em> Isabel Chang, who achieved high honors last year, including in the international competition, won first place in the state&#8217;s senior division this year. <\/em> <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Junior (born 2012-2015):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1st: Sudeep Asam of Morrisville<\/li><li>2nd: Taksh Verma of Charlotte<\/li><li>3rd: Ava Venters of Greenville<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Intermediate (born 2008-2011):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1st: Audrey Song of Cary<\/li><li>2nd: Kathryn Danielle Grace of Matthews<\/li><li>3rd: Michelle Selin Park of Fayetteville<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Senior (born 2004-2007):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1st: Isabel Chang of Cary<\/li><li>2nd: Amy Lei of Mooresville<\/li><li>3rd: Chloe Mosely of Lincolnton<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>As in previous years, the top 10 winners in each age group will have their artwork displayed by the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh. The winning art can also be viewed on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/ncdot\/albums\/72177720296570891\">NCDOT Flickr site<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Since-2015-Numbers-edit-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-21261\" width=\"262\" height=\"349\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Since-2015-Numbers-edit-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Since-2015-Numbers-edit-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/stateaviationjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Since-2015-Numbers-edit.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 262px) 100vw, 262px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Judging was based on creativity, adherence to this year\u2019s\ntheme of \u201cDesign Your Perfect Aircraft,\u201d and technical quality. The N.C.\nAirports Association sponsors the contest and provides cash prizes to the\nwinners and their schools. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The top three students in each age division will also have\ntheir artwork submitted in the National Aviation Art Contest. The national\nwinners will advance to the international competition. Last year, North\nCarolina students took five of the nine national prizes and three of the top\ninternational prizes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Entries this year came from 165 hometowns and 133 schools\nfrom 55 counties across the state.
