Miami-Dade County and ITA Airways officials hosted a\nribbon-cutting ceremony at Miami International Airport on March 1 to celebrate\nthe launch of Rome-Miami service by the new national airline of Italy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
ITA Airways is beginning the new service with three\nweekly roundtrip flights, which will grow to five weekly flights in April and\nthen increase to daily flights in June. \nITA Airways is totally owned by the Italian Ministry of Economy and\nFinance and has been active since November 2020. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Italy was one of MIA\u2019s top 20 international markets\nbefore the pandemic, generating nearly 400,000 total passengers in 2019. Italy\nis not currently served by any other airline at MIA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
